BIO'S 2019
ANNUAL CONVENTION
Our 2019 Annual Convention was a success! We secured strong public commitments from Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer, Pittsfield Public Schools Superintendent Jason McCandless, Dr. Gray Ellrodt of Berkshire Health Systems, Lia Spiliotes of Community Health Programs, and Ilana Steinhauer of Volunteers in Medicine.
ORGANIZING 101:
STORY OF SELF
In January we began hosting a series of trainings on the basics of organizing. Our most recent topic was Story of Self, in which we developed powerful personal narratives. We were joined by our interns from Williams College, Germanie and Nasir, as well as our awesome intern from BCC, América!
JANUARY EXECUTIVE
COUNCIL
We had great turnout for our January Executive Council meeting! Fifteen of our member groups were represented. Together we built strong relationships, and did major planning for our upcoming Annual Convention.
BIO'S NEW
OFFICE SPACE
BIO kicked off the new year with a new office space for our leaders and staff! We are now housed in the Unitarian Church in Pittsfield. The small house-warming party we hosted that evening made the new space feel like home!
ACCOMPANIMENT
WORK
In December, our Accompaniment team met for the last gathering of 2018! We ate delicious snacks as we cut flyers for our newly launched Accompaniment program. Click here to learn more about our Accompaniment work!
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
MEETING
On August 9, 2018, our Executive Team gathered for a retreat. Together we walked a labyrinth, developed personal and group narratives, and did major housekeeping!
