BIO encourages collaboration with the many organizations in Berkshire County who exist to help. Here is a sampling --
BASIC Berkshires
B-A-S-I-C stands for Berkshire Alliance to Support the Immigrant Community. BASIC was formed to support the Berkshire immigrant community shortly after the 2016 presidential election. Ilana Steinhauer, Neil Hirsch, and John Nelson organized the initial meetings. They sought to bring together the agencies that serve immigrants in Berkshire County. BASIC is currently the only convener that meets across sectors with the focus on immigrants in our community.
Berkshire Community Action Council
BCAC is the federally designated anti-poverty agency for Berkshire County. We offer many services for low-income residents, including Fuel Assistance, Weatherization, the Children's Warm Clothing Program, VITA Tax Assistance, Loan Programs, and emergency assistance.

Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts
Our programs strengthen our community by strengthening the individual–from resettling refugee families, to supporting New Americans to become self-sufficient, counseling young adults through life’s transitions, equipping older adults to age well, protecting elders from abuse, leading caregiver support groups, and helping individuals enhance their Jewish connections.
